IIT Madras is established in Chennai. The institute was founded in 1959 by the Government of India with assistance from the Government of West Germany. According to the NIRF Ranking, IIT Madras has been ranked as the Best Engineering Institute in India for three consecutive years. The institute has 550 faculty members.

The JEE Advanced 2018 examination was conducted by IIT Kanpur.
IIT Roorkee previously known as the University of Roorkee and Thomason College of Civil Engineering was established in the year 1847 at Roorkee, Uttarakhand byLieutenant Governor, Sir James Thomason. The institute was declared the seventh IIT of India in the year 2001. The institute posses 21 academic departments and provides 11 Under Graduate, 1 Integrated Dual Degree, 61 Post Graduate and numerous Doctoral programmes.
IIT Guwahati was established in the year 1993 and is the sixth oldest IIT of India which is situated on the northern banks of river Brahmaputra. The institute has 11 academic departments and 10 research centres. Currently, there are 215 faculty members along with 300 support staff. The institute has rapidly progressed to be among the top 10 IITs of India.

The institute conducts a 2-day annual festival called Fluxus which is a techno-cultural festival.
